A Càirdeas (Gaelic for friendship) release is always special. It’s where Laphroaig  create's something that’s just for the Friends of Laphroaig. This edition also celebrates the 30th anniversary of founding of the Friends. So this year's special version is Laphroaig's way of saying slàinte!

The 2024 10-year-old Càirdeas edition brings everyone together to celebrate the  Friends of Laphroaig. Distillery Manager, Barry MacAffer chose to create an ode to a pair of well-loved Càirdeas releases: 2019’s Triple Wood and 2021’s PX Cask.

Married together by Master Blender, Calum Fraser, with an age statement that harkens back to the first Càirdeas expressions. This is a Laphroaig that matches that punchy, reeky peat smoke and minerality with fruiter, sweeter qualities.

Producer's Tasting Notes

Nose: Brazil nut toffee brittle, with sweet vanilla custard notes and baking spice, followed by milk chocolate covered raisins and spiced orange. The PX cask influence brings a sweetness of dates and dried figs while an aromatic and earthy peat smoke lingers in the background

Palate: Rich, sweet and oily on the palate, with notes of smoked orange toffee, stewed peaches and smouldering campfire. Sultanas, orange peel and apricots balance with hints of coffee grounds and liquorice root, accompanied by a long lasting, medicinal and slightly herbal finish.

Finish: Long, slightly sweet and dry with a long, slightly peppery peat-rich smoky finish.
