YakAttack 16x16 ShortStak Upgrade Kit for BlackPak Pro, Black

If your BlackPak Pro is already packed to capacity and you're still leaving gear behind, the ShortStak Upgrade Kit is the most logical way to reclaim that space without changing your whole kayak setup.

The ShortStak replaces the lid of your existing 16x16 BlackPak Pro with a shallow second-layer storage compartment that's roughly 40% the height of the original crate. The angled bottom edge of the ShortStak panels matches the geometry of the BlackPak Pro opening, maintaining the same water-shedding fit as the original lid. At 4.25" of interior depth, it's well suited for quick-access items you want on top and within reach, whether that's terminal tackle, tools, or electronics accessories you'd otherwise have buried at the bottom of your main crate. Heavy-duty hinges and integrated support straps prevent overtravel on the lid to protect your BlackPak Pro below.

Construction mirrors the BlackPak Pro closely: injection-moulded UV-stabilised polymers, tongue and groove panel assembly, rib-reinforced panels for rigidity with minimal weight, and the GridLoc 2D Mounting Platform on every interior and exterior panel. That means all your existing GridLoc accessories including MightyMounts, TracPaks, and Through Hull Wiring Kits are compatible right out of the box. Note that adding the ShortStak eliminates the ability to run rod holders on the hinged side of the BlackPak Pro, and only one ShortStak is recommended per BlackPak Pro.
